hello there good friends! how are you doing? did you have a lovely weekend? i can say that i did, i picked up mr twiggs at the airport (yes, this home is again complete!), and i was able to make more bread, plant some cherry tomatoes and lavender, work out on new prints for the {etsy shop} and clean… well, but today is a new day and we shall begin in a very passionate way… why? because today is valentine’s day! i must be honest, i really don’t celebrate much this holiday. i think that this has turned into one of those days in which spending money is more important than in honesty dedicate it to your loved one. so, in order to mark this date in a more special way…
… i invited a few ladies to share her thoughts on love… and some personal experiences! i loved these! from today until thursday we shall have a lady guest every day. and on friday, i will be sharing my thoughts as well. do you like this idea? oh i think this will be fun fun fun! the first lady of the day… well, i chose her, because she was the first to answer my questions, and also because when her questions arrived… i was working late and her answers just put a smile on my face. her name is… jennifer hagler. she is the one behind {a merry mishap}. let’s start…
love is… love is watching your best friend read a stack of children’s books to the 15-month-old son you made together. hearing the two of them laughing and talking, together, snuggling with each other, is probably the warmest, most heart felt act i’ve witnessed recently.
how old were you when you fell in love for the first time? i can confidently say i didn’t truly fall in love until i met my husband, which was at 21. now that i say that, i was kind of young but not too young to know that i was in love with him. we only dated for about 5 months before we knew we wanted to get married!
describe your loved one in three words. sincere, brilliant, witty.
what was your most romantic gesture? my most romantic gesture wasn’t actually my gesture. it’s always most romantic when my husband has everything planned and i’m just there to enjoy it. the day he proposed is still, in my mind, one of my life’s highlights. we used to take long walks near the river, just to be together. that night we walked where we always do, but as we approached this small alcove i saw writing on the pathway in chalk that lead around the corner to a small bench with candles and a small picnic. he let me wander in there and immediately got down on one knee, tried to profess his love through many nerves and gave me the ring of my dreams. i loved that he had arranged every little detail and timed it so that our parents would arrive right after we finished eating. there wasn’t a dry eye in the park!
what is the most romantic movie ever? pride and prejudice. it’s completely cliche but it’s the only romantic movie that’s made me cry and one of the violin solos played at our wedding.
aren’t they lovely? thank you so much jennifer for sharing your experiences and opinions about love… you can all say hello to jennifer on her blog {here}… she has an amazing blog, where she shares a bit of her life, adventures as a mom of israel and her interior styling adventures.
