my name is catalina alvarez and i dedicate myself to photography, digital graphic design, and crafts now more than twenty years, that passions are my work and i share it in my blog.
where were you born? sono nata a santa fé de bogotá, colombia.

and now where do you live? and you have been living there for how many years? dopo esser vissuta in spagna per circa 4 anni, adesso vivo in italia da 5 anni.
i lived in spain for four years and i have been living in italy since 2006.
do you remember what were you feeling/thinking in the day you decided to go abroad? curiosità e molta voglia di imparare, a me piace il cambio, visitare, vivere in nuovi paesi e nuove città, sono esperienze che arricchiscono la vita.
curiosity and strong desire to learn, i like the change, visit, live in new countries and new cities, are experiences that enrich our lives.
what challenges did you face when you started living there? imparare la lingua per poter comunicare ed entrare in un ritmo di vita più frenetico, oltre ad adattarmi al diverso tipo di mentalità.
learn a new language to communicate and get into a more frenetic pace of life, as well as adapt to the different type of mentality.
what do you love the most about your current country? la storia, l’arte, la cultura, la possibilità di conoscere persone con altri tipi di mentalità, viaggiare in treno, essere vicina alle grandi città, avere l’europa a portata di mano.
the history, art, culture, the opportunity to meet people with other types of mentality, traveling by train, be close to the most beautiful cities in europe.
what do you miss the most about your home country? la semplicità della gente, l’ingenuità, l’allegria, il divertirsi con poco, il sorriso, la gentilezza…
the simplicity of the people, the ingenuity, the joy of live, the way they enjoy little things, the smile faces, kindness…
if you could choose, what would you take from this country to yours? la storia ancestrale, i musei, le opere d’arte, quelle cose che caratterizzano i millenni di vita europea.
the ancestral history, museums, works of art, those things that characterize the thousand years of european life.

catalina is a very sweet lady indeed, and as i was writing this interview i was imagining her speaking to in italian… and it sounded so beautifully! i think i was almost feeling like {elizabeth gilbert} when she thought about moving to italy just to learn how to speak italian… it is indeed such a beautiful language! so as you can see, these women that have been guests here are very strong indeed… they even try the challenge of living in several different countries! how amazing is that as life experience? well, i would like to thank catalina for waiting so long to see this interview published! and also thank you for bringing a new language into {a place for twiggs}! you can visit catalina {here} & {here}!
