hello lovely friends, how are you? how was your weekend? i had a lovely weekend in a small fishing town, where mr twiggs was born & raised. every time we go there i try to keep my mind busy with other things and spend quality time with mr twiggs. and not having any internet connection helps of course! i must confess that i may be a little workaholic with photography + blogging… because it gives me such pleasure! but let us keep going… today is {sneak-peek :: handmade pledge} day and i wish to present you a very sweet artist. some time ago, i favourited her shop on etsy, and since then have been waiting for the right time to invite her here. her name is atp… and she loves to draw.
“i love to create! it started somewhere in my childhood. i was sewing clothes for my cat, building some kind of architectural pieces from pillows-tables-sheets-couches, i started to knit when i was 5, and i always loved to draw! with a sharp stone on new furniture (oh my mom was angry!), on wallpapers with watercolors… i remember being 13 years old and painting on wallpapers again when we just moved into a new flat… and my mom was not surprised. so i was alowed to do anything i want since that time… even at school! i always ran from boring classes to my arts teacher and when i got older i changed school from usual to technological lyceum and there i discovered the computer! so my usual arts turned into learning illustrator, photoshop and archicad. and i was still secretly missing boring classes, spending that time with my arts teacher and computer graphics.”
“… and when i was 15 i decided that i would be an architect! i started preparing to go to the university and that was the hardest time in my life… while i was studying so much cool things like academic drawing, mechanical drawing and maths, i didn’t resist pressure and got ill. this all turned into entering technological university where i studied engineering and clothes design… and was great student with A+++… still got bored! since i could not do what i wanted!! so i started to create again… i tried to make toys, cards and notebooks and posting these all in my blog. i remember when i drew a cute girl with a bird on her head on the cover of a notebook and that was the first time i got lots of comments and subscribers in my blog and here i turned into {atpalicis}.”
“later i actually droped out of school and i was 19 years old, without higher education, nonworking happy person!! so the main thing i have to share from my tiny art life (i am 20 right now… young and foolish) you have to do the only things you like! or at least create your climate so that you will have some minutes to do what you are fond of. you only live once on this planet and why do you have to spend your precious time on stuff that makes you sad, stressed and depressed? maybe in next life you’ll be a rock or there will be no next life? world is huge with amazing opportunities. take your chance and be happy! if you want you can!!”
“my inspiration… i adore visual content like good pictures and drawings. i can find all these in blogs. reading blogs i love! what an amazing job is to hold a blog and fill it with something beautiful! i am inspired mostly by watching movies and cartoons. blogs feed my head but movies inspire. my precious find is hayao miyazaki and studio ghibli! his works are amazing, full of kindness and wisdom. and sure a great drawing style! i watch again and again and never get bored!”
“if someone asks me what do i seek for my work… i would have to answer that i actually have no idea what i am living for but i want to live it calm and do things i enjoy. so i have no idea what i am drawing for. i just like it! and i think it’s very important to do what you like. concerning goals… well… i would like to illustrate a book… everyone who illustrate wants! if it does not happen it’s okay! my goal for this year is to buy a camera and have opportunity to do move visual content. i never make impossible goals… people say that you have to dream because they come true. but… dreaming is not enough! i want to live a life right now. so i make little goals to achieve them and feel satisfied. maybe in the future i’ll create my masterplan and will own the world so be careful!!”
and this was the lovely interview by atp, an adorable dreamer… which draws with soft & neutral tones, matching wonderland images & lovely girls… or even adored and loving werewolfs. can you resist to these? most of them specially drawn to valentine’s day. perfect to share your love with your loved one. you may find atp on {etsy}, {blog} & {facebook}… i wish to thank atp for being such a lovely guest today! may you have a rocking week, my friends!
