hello there friends, how was your weekend? i hope it was a good one… and if i can speak for myself , i hope you had a great weekend, without any shopping rush, unless it was on the street… because i completely do not have a single thing for shopping malls. i spent my weekend mostly at home, resting, with a terrible back pain and enjoying myself peacefully sat staying warm & reading some of my favourite blogs, those i actually need to read more than the usual. i just love having my time spent like this. so today i came in here to let you know about someone’s work, as i usually do on mondays. today it is all about handmade things, so i brought you someone from france. let us see if you recognize this lady…

how it all started? it started very simply. i have always created or alterated my own clothes and jewelry. since i was a very little girl. i was lucky enough to grow up in a very creative environment. the next step was started to make things for family and friends then for friends’ friends and so on… i have been encouraged to start my own brand for a while and i finally have taken this great step in a new adventure in 2009.

what does la marquise des anges mean for you? well, it is a place where i can share my sense of style, the colors i like. my little universe. i can be myself and let my inspiration flows and express my own sense of aesthetics. this is a great feeling. it is also the place i meet wonderful people all over the world and build wonderful relationships.
what do you aim for with this brand? nothing in particular. i hope it will keep growing and makes me happy. it is so wonderful to wake up everyday of your life, with your heart full of joy of doing what you like …

where do you seek and gather inspiration? {everywhere}… i always carry little notebooks as i can have dozen of ideas or concept a day! the point is actually for me to stay focused. i can see inspiration in the decadent & fresh from the oven patisserie at the corner boulangerie, while walking down the fresh market alley, while watching a {audiard} movie… i am telling you {everywhere}! to resume i don’t have to seek for inspiration, i just need to organize what i have collected!

so far, 525 sold items… you must be proud!! is there any good advice for selling on etsy? as a frist advice, i would say making great products you are proud about. i am only selling things i would proudly wear myself; and every single item i display has been elaborated with lots of care and attention. i believe they somehow “exhudes” and carry this. the second point would be photography; it is vital to have great pictures. and pictures that express your own universe are even better. and third… have the best customer service possible. i give them the informations, i would myself like to receive; i keep them posted, i always answer convo quickly… i consider my each buyer as if he/she was the only one i have. it is a little bit time-consuming but it is how i like working. {etsy} is a handmade marketplace and i want my buyer to have the best personalized experience possible. i love getting to know my cutomers through our correspondence & i feel very happy to have a strong repeated customers base. it is such a wonderful reward.

i remember when i saw sabine’s clothing for the very first time, they made me feel i was somewhere in cuba, due to all the colours in her shop. the curious thing is that there are also several pale & soft coloured items, but that was the feeling. i imagine her sitting somewhere in paris looking through a big window to all those magnificent paris rooftops (but no, i do not even know where she lives in france, but this is how i picture her) and that must be an amazing inspirational view… to all this elegance and feminine details. for the record, and this is very important… “all items are handmade in france. all materials used in the pieces are hand-picked by me and sourced locally in france from french suppliers”… and this is the philosophy of supporting local businesses. thank you sabine for being here today, i know that there was a tremendous effort to be able to answer these, and for that i thank you! i hope you can all pay her a visit to her {shop} & {blog}. may you all have a lovely start of the week! i will be back with one beautiful mosaic from the most exquisite {flickr group}!
