As I said before, getting to know your own place is an important step to appreciate other’s treasures.
This leads me to other important thing… and thought.
{Getting to know ourselves is an important step to appreciate other’s treasures.}
I’ve already wrote something about this… we must take the tim to get to know ourselves, because we can only manage to understand others, before understanding ourselves. When we’re 10 and are bored with school and all our homework, we look to our parents or any adult, and think “Oh, how much I want to get there!! It must feel amazing to know everything about anything, and most of all… they don’t need to go to school, because they work… and get paid!!”
Well… we all know that as grown-ups…
…we don’t have all the answers, do we?
… we don’t know everything, do we?
… we work, but sometimes we don’t like what we do…
… we work, but sometimes, don’t know what we’re doing…
The thing is that we should say to our children that when we grown up, we don’t stop discovering, we don’t stop wandering, exploring… trying to find our answers, mostly because there are some that are quite hard to figure out… and on the other hand, Questions also change.
But all these words are meant to say that in order to fully understand what’s outside of us… we must look inside first. It will be a full-time journey… but it will be worthwhile, I promise! But just like a real journey, we’ll have our ups and downs, as for the road that we drive in is not always a highway, and from time to time we’ll have to stop and change tires, oil… to wash the car… to eat something.
Life’s a journey that begins with us… in our innerself.
So be a “tourist” and get to know yourself better and just then… try to know other’s, you’ll appreciate them in a better way.
